The Creative Soul Summer at ThinkingCutie.com

The Creative Soul Summer at ThinkingCutie.com

After a prolonged winter in the Midwest, I was inspired by all things summer.  I also tried a few new methods this past month.  My world has gone from bright rainbow punked unicorns to hand-sculpted earrings.

I think too many snow storms toward what was supposed to be the beginning of spring really made me appreciate all things associated with summer.  Bright colors and characters really called to me.  I stepped outside my usual book characters and ventured into my version of a rockin' unicorn and an Elvis inspired pig.

My eyes started to pay attention to more than colors...

Nothing Like a Dance Party in the Studio

Nothing Like a Dance Party in the Studio

We skipped spring in the midwest, where my studio is located, and we jumped into summer.  The temperatures have already reached the upper 90s.  Instead of melting into the pavement here in Minnesota, we're dancing with unicorns.  I just had to create a fun-loving character to get the party started.   This team mascot is leading the way for my studio characters and reminding us to take a dance break once in a while.

All of us here in the studio hope you enjoy the summer and remember to let out your dancing grove once in a while!

Sharing Culture Today

Who you are should be celebrated and cherished.  As we grow we try to figure out who we are and how we fit into this world.  One of the reasons our artist created some of her Korean related designs was because of bullying. Ignorance will choose to try to tell you that there's something wrong with your name, where you came from, and how you were born.  The story's the same for every human being.

The only thing that adversity and bullying sparked in this artist was creativity and inspiration.  Embrace who...

Art is Life

Art is Life

Inspiration for an artist and designer comes from every day living and sharing the things you're passionate about.  Our artist has rediscovered her cultural heritage by traveling to Asia and falling find a first love - Food!  This is a common experience with world travelers and it's one way to discover a new city.

The art of sushi was actually first created in Korea when farmers had to take their lunch out into the fields.  Often, what most people had out of every day necessity becomes the most treasured.  We always see a return to common dishes that were...
