Trying a New Medium

Trying a New Medium

As an artist, you should always push the limit of what you know and what type of medium you work. Past studies have brought me from oil to acrylic and the. Watercolor.  Each medium gave me a different perspective and taught me something new.  My skills grew.  You might have a favorite but try to experiment.

This month, I’m working with wires, handmade beads, and pliers.  My eyes have opened to new possibilities and a new signature line.  My goal is to try new techniques, styles, and learn new methods of jewelry making.  You never know, some experiments and...

Heart Warming Stories

As a creator, it’s always to great to hear from your customers. Hearing that someone purchased your clothing and books because they are learning the language is always inspiring.  Thank you to all those who love learning!

This fall our artist is busy creating miniature worlds and adding to her miniature sculpture artist collection.  Mahieu's workshop desk is filled with needle tools, clay, and tiny facets that require a delicate touch.  Needle by needle she miniature houses and realistic looking earrings are being created.

My eyes started to pay attention to more than colors...

Nothing Like a Dance Party in the Studio

Nothing Like a Dance Party in the Studio

We skipped spring in the midwest, where my studio is located, and we jumped into summer.  The temperatures have already reached the upper 90s.  Instead of melting into the pavement here in Minnesota, we're dancing with unicorns.  I just had to create a fun-loving character to get the party started.   This team mascot is leading the way for my studio characters and reminding us to take a dance break once in a while.

All of us here in the studio hope you enjoy the summer and remember to let out your dancing grove once in a while!
