Our First 2025 Event

Our First 2025 Event

On February 7th, we had our first event of 2025!  This was a 4 hour Valentine’s Day Night Market with Minneapolis Craft Market, and we were excited and nervous at the same time.  This event went from 6 to 10 pm and we didn’t know if we were ready.

One thing to know is that we didn’t have this event in our original plan to start off the year but we were getting restless for the season to begin.  We missed being out and in a place where we can meet other creators and our regular customers.  We also missed the people we’ve gotten to know who also attend events with us.  So, we decided to participate.

One good thing about a small, local event as a starter was that we were able to work out all of nervous.  Things that we might forget, things that might not work were all tested out on a small scale.  Having something to attend also had us work harder to prepare. We don’t know about you, but we need goals or something to motivate us to create more than we would without an event.

This event was held at the Machine Shop in Minneapolis, and it’s a place that I would hang out again.  They had Valentine cocktails and a DJ for atmosphere, and I think their event had a good size crowd for a Friday night.  Since it was only 4 hours, we didn’t expect thousands of dollars.

Let us say that you should never give up hope when you’re at events or rest all your hopes on getting rich.  There are ups and downs in a business, especially when you run everything on your own.  It took us a good hour to have sales roll in.  The important thing about this event was that we made enough to pay for our space, expenses, and made a little extra on the side.  Making money is always better than spending money on a Friday night.

We saw couples on dates, those who just wanted to come check out some small businesses, and those who participated in a bouquet making class at the venue.  Low lights and hearts created a warm and fuzzy atmosphere.  Talking to our nice neighbors was also a plus.

We gave this event a thumbs up for the short amount of time.  This experience may have varied with other creators but hoped they did well.  If they didn’t have the show, they wanted we hope they don’t give up and keep creating.

Our next event will be GeekCraft Expo at the end of March in the Minneapolis Convention Center.  We hope to see you there.  In the meantime, please and we say please check out our online shop as we have been working on many new creations.  Thank you so much for your support!
